Bans Smoking IN The Hindu

According to Hindu teachings, the term Halal prohibited does not exist, especially the things that sets out whether a person may smoke. There was only a variety of foods / drinks are allowed / prohibited for consumption. The words halal only be obtained on the explanation (in Indonesian), not on the content of Sloka. 

In the book Bhagavad Gita: Sloka 07/17 - 17:10 prohibited in Sanskrit: amedhyam. 

Food is allowed in Hinduism is food that has good properties to prolong life, purify life and give strength, health, happiness and satisfaction that has full content of juice, fatty, nutritious and pleasing. 

Meanwhile, the banned food is food that is too bitter, too sour, broiling or cause the body becomes very hot, too spicy, too dry and contains many ingredients that hard once favored by people in the nature of lust and a variety of foods and types of consumption that generate physical and psychological damage. These foods cause grief, misery and disease. Cooked food more than three hours before you eat, the food bland, stale and rotten, leftover food from other people and illicit materials are preferred by people in the nature of darkness.

Tatwa Triguna 

In Hinduism, the nature of food or consumption in life and human life are categorized under two types: 

First, the type of food / consumption that allowed the Satwika Guna is the food that when consumed can improve the quality of life, longevity, strength, power, comfort, cheerfulness, intelligence, absence of disease and health. 

Second, the type of food / consumption is prohibited Rajasika Tamasika Guna and Guna. Rajasika order is food which if consumed can cause anger attitude (emotional), aggression, pain, sorrow, pain, suffering and disease. While Tamasika order is food that if taken would lead to laziness, indifference, passivity, stubbornness, ignorance and disease. 

Thus, when viewed from both types of food consumption above, smoking is included in the type of food / consumption has been prohibited because it contains properties and Tamasika Rajasika Guna Guna.
